I Built a Custom Rear Bumper Rack for My RV - Generator, Gas Can & Bike Mount

Flip-down cargo racks can rattle loose, and a lot of bolt-on carriers depend on the thin factory bumper at the back of the trailer. I wanted something more substantial for my own RV.

I needed to carry a 2000-watt generator, a gas can, and a bike rack without hanging all of that weight off the factory bumper. So I built a permanent steel rack tied directly into the trailer frame.

What It Holds

The full setup carries a 2000-watt generator, a fuel can, and a bike rack in one welded steel assembly. The rack is supported by the trailer frame instead of relying on the factory rear bumper to carry the load.

Why Not Just Buy One?

Every travel trailer is a little different. Frames, bumpers, hitch setups, and what people actually want to carry all vary. An off-the-shelf rack has to fit a lot of different trailers. This one only had to fit mine.

That's also why I don't sell these as a one-size-fits-all product. I build them to order for the specific trailer and what the owner wants to carry.

The design deposit covers the initial consultation, measurements, planning, and design work. If you move forward with the build, the full deposit is applied toward the final price. You approve the design and price before I start cutting steel.
